I voted for blocks being more valuable because a block ends a possible score a steal ends a possession, usually before a shot attempt.

Interesting. I always considered that blocks don't necessarily result in getting the ball back while steals do result in getting the ball back, by possession.

I think steals are better because you take the possesion but with the blocks it's only a possibility

Blocks and steals are the same. You are taking away/denying possessionof the other team. Whether it results in a fast break or not is irrelevant.
