After all these years, why are the forum's mechanics still so ****?

We have a great fantasy format but the forums deter posting. Inside the league can't you make it so that we click on the new post and go straight to it rather than the top of the thread and then have to scroll to try and find the last one read? Can't you get quotes in too? I've had easier reads on the old BBS.
