What default positions need to be changed?

Hey all - I'll be putting this to a poll later, just to gauge people's interest, but I thought we could generate a conversation here. There are a few players whose default positions are disputable. They've basically just grown out of them over the years. I'm more than happy to look into changing these for next season.

Any suggestions?

So far I'm thinking...

Dwight Howard from FC to C
Josh Smith from GF to F
Kevin Durant from GF to F

Thoughts?

Come on Jeffrey, read to the end of the paragraph.

And is it true that Carlos Boozer and Paul Millsap start as FCs?

My league follows the Yahoo sports positions. If a position is different on Yahoo sports, (there are MANY!) then we change them for our league.

What would be awesome is let each league vote at the start to pick up positions automatically from different sources, like NBA.com or Yahoo Sports or ESPN etc.

But I would say you shouldn't change the positions mid season for the entire season, as that could really screw up some teams.

Maybe Monroe FC, Paul George GF, JJ Hickson FC, Hayward GF...

I guess the fair is to keep Millsap and Boozer as FC.

My suggestions:

Dwight Howard from FC to C
Josh Smith from GF to F
Kevin Durant from GF to F
Tyson Chandler from FC to C
Javale Macgee from FC to C
Anthony Davis from F to FC
David Lee from F to FC
Bismack Biombo from F to FC
Kevin Garnett from F to FC
Serge Ibaka from F to FC
Corey Maggette from GF to F
Luol Deng from GF to F
Glen Davis from F to FC

pedrob, Javale has been playing some PF this year, next to Koufos.

Lavoy Allen is also playing as a center this year, so he should be FC...

Anthony Tolliver should be just F, not FC...

jordan hill should be FC...

Dejuan Blair should be a C maybe...

darrel arthur plays as a center a lot of time with zach randolph as a PF, so he could be FC

It's debatable. There is a certain camp of people that believes that where a player starts the game is only where he should be eligible, while other more practical people like myself understand that there are rotations and match ups throughout the entirety of a game. I've always been in favor of more leniency in regards to multipositional players, where if a player logs even a few minutes at a certain position he should be eligible there. And yeah let's not make any changes THIS year! :p lol jk

I'd make guys a single position, unless its pretty obvious. Leagues can vote to make them multiple position players. Tough thing in dynasty leagues to change players position when teams have been built around certain position availablities. With that said, Josh Smith and Dwight Howard are no brainers to move to F and C only, respectively.

I agree with most of them but...

....Durant F only?

He can play even as a guard, like Lebron James does. Why not a GF? he is not a CF for sure, but only F? I dont agree with that at all.

And Lebron should be GFC for me, the plays all positions in the game, from pointguard to even center as we've seen. Anyway, he should be al least a GF or CF.

May as well make Lebron a GFC. He is the best, so why not make him the best ever. Alot of the positions are subjective. How do you document what position a player plays, and how many minutes. Gonna have to lean heavy on NBA score cards, and even then, how many minutes at a position constitutes eligibility. The debate could go on forever unless something is set in stone, hence each league has the option to vote certain positional changes.

82games.com is a good resource in this debate.

i love the 82games.com idea. We allow change voting if nba.com, rotoworld.com, espn.com list the player as dual positions. Just needs one site
