I open this post to talk about the new player photos that the new owners have set.

I don't like the new animated and pixelated player stats photos, I prefer so much the old real photos, are so much pretty and realistic.

So... you prefer the old Norris Cole photo? XDDD

That was one of the best parts of the old administration, the photo goofs like Norris Cole etc. If we're going with those cartoons than I have to say ya dropped the ball on that one.

But that's a small concession to make when you figure all the other great improvements that have been made.

Hey guys, here's the official stance on the player headshots. The move was made for a number of reasons. We think they're fun though. Andre Drummond retweeted his headshot to his Twitter followers just yesterday!

Will you commission an artist to make the icons for all the non-starters as well? There are a lot of players who don't have images!

Hazemix, what you're seeing is the tip of the iceberg! Currently 150 players have headshots, come Nov. 1, there will be 500 - current players, past players, etc.

Awesome! And here I was thinking you had just taken those headshots from that reddit thread I saw on /r/nba a while ago ;)

Personally, I don't dislike the animated pix per se, but I think that the real shots were much more effective and useful, especially in the Rosters page, where thanks to them we could immediately recognize which player belonged to which team.

We weren't too pleased to see the headshot leak on Reddit a few weeks ago, but these are certainly commissioned by and exclusively for Sports.ws.

new headshots like tim duncan or greivis vasquez look much better than the first ones as lebron james or kobe bryant. I hope when you finish, you'll get the chance to edit and improve james durant or bryant, along with the old ones

I honestly think that the Tim Duncan one is my favorite, it's just so perfect.

On a strictly functional level, I dislike the new player headshots. Some are funny, but functionally, I find the pics more distracting than anything. I know what most players look like, so their real photos are much easier to identify, at a glance.

Can you make the photos an optional choice?
