Would you play in a Sports.ws league with player salaries?
Yes | 71% |
No | 29% |

The league I am commissioning is based on player salaries including length of contract.
Nice to see the interest.
Its goin to be a whole lot of fun. Full of surprises and experience Fantasy Basketball to a new level!
It'd be nice to give it a go... without totally giving up the current system
I play different leagues: some are annual, no keeper, every year a full draft; some are salary leagues.
Me and my friends (an italian basketball forum) play three different salary leagues, with different scoring systems and number of teams. The tree leagues follow the real CBA, with some minor adjustments. These are the ones I remember at the moment:
- the luxury level is considered as a second cap level, it limits the opportunity for FA offers;
- considering the previous point, in one of the leagues the luxury level is increased by 50% of the difference between real salary cap and luxury level; in the same league, we try to reply an economic effect for the luxury tax, giving teams under cap a bonus (set as tax payed by taxpayers divided by the number of teams under cap, with a maximum fixed every year);
- for Free Agents market we use an auction method;
- we use max. contract only for RFA, and the maximum is different in every league (one uses the real rule of 25% and 30% for players under Rose Rule, two are with 12,5 mln. which was the max when we started the leagues and are voting to adjust this bug (I think we can consider it as a bug);
And there are obviously other differences I don't remember at the moment.
The point is that we use an Excel file to manage the league, and it would be fantastic - and less risky of human mistakes - having here all the tools. At the same time I think it's important to consider any potential difference between leagues because they mean a huge work for customization.
Anyway, I love salary leagues and I'd love to see that option implemented in sports.ws!!!

Our league already does it. We have a salary cap of $300 and do an auction as our draft. We also have to make salaries match when we trade.
So long as Jose Slaughter is NOWHERE near it.
of course. i think many of us are already doin'it. let's try.
My league is already doing that! So It would be GREAT!
it will be the best nba mmanager
