JAMAL
MURRAY

Denver • 2020-21
Sep. 18, 2018 - The Nuggets have a lot of talent, and they added Isaiah Thomas to the fold as well, but Murray could easily be primed for a third year break out season if he has put a lot of work into himself and his game this offseason. Murray saw his FG% jump from 40% to 45%, and his 3-point FG% jump from 33% to 38% last season, and he is still only developing at the age of 21. Do not sleep on him.

Ben Simmons is a really good player, with an Estimated Plus-Minus (EPM) impact (+3.1) in the borderline All-Star range. The problem, as many have observed, is that he hasn’t shown much improvement. Look at his flat EPM growth curve below and then compare it with Jamal Murray’s... t.co

Simmons is a 3 time NBA All-Star, 2 time 1st Team All-Defensive team, 1 time 3rd Team All-NBA. He is not a scrub … the only two players in his draft class to even come close are Jamal Murray & Domantas Sabonis. Neither was a candidate for the No. 1 pick in 2016.

Gotta say, the Jamal Murray injury is absolutely massive, but Murray’s presence wouldn’t help defensively. Dozier’s would have (and he can actually run pick and roll which they need), but not that much.
