KRISTAPS
PORZINGIS

New York Knicks • 2017-18
Jan. 31, 2019 - The Mavs have agreed to acquire Kristaps Porzingis from the Knicks, a move that will pair the 23-year-old unicorn with 19-year-old rookie sensation Luka Doncic for, potentially, years to come. The move to Dallas won't impact Porzinigis' injury timeline, however, so it's very likely that the big man misses the remainder of the 2018-19 season. Consider Porzingis a high risk, high reward keeper asset but don't scramble to add him in redraft leagues unless it's revealed that New York was being overly cautious with his rehabilitation as they explored trade scenarios. The concept isn't that different than how the Mavericks function around Luka. The big difference (among other smaller ones) is that Horace Grant doesn't play like Kristaps Porzingis. That one domino piece changes the whole feel of the "power wing at the point" philosophy.
