NBA player profile for Otto Porter with stats and fantasy analysis

OTTO
PORTER

Jan. 18, 2019 - Count Otto Porter among those who've benefited from the absence of John Wall. The 25-year-old forward has seen an uptick in scoring with the team's All-Star point guard sidelined and has been able to flex some of the versatility that earned him such an enormous contract back in the summer of 2017. Given their cap constraints, Washington's best bet for improvement this season and beyond may have to come from within. That could grant Porter the opportunity to take on more responsibility down the stretch. (@AustinKent)

Believe it or not, but this is like $12 million less than what Otto Porter will make next season. Good one, Wiz. t.co

Washington traded Otto Porter for Bobby Portis and Jabari Parker. They currently employ none of those players. Porter trade was a salary dump. Grunfeld failed to even acquire a pick out of it. Good news is, Sheppard is clearly starting from scratch. This is a full-blown rebuild t.co

Thing is, Leonsis couldn't possibly allow an interim GM to trade both all-stars after letting a then soon-to-be fired Grunfeld trade Otto Porter for what amounted to essentially nothing. t.co

Wizards could have kept paying Otto Porter $56M over 2 yrs. Could have paid to keep Kelly Oubre (Restricted). Could have paid to keep Tomas Satoransky (R). Could have paid to keep Bobby Portis (R) and Jabari Parker. Instead, all of them off books, it appears, for a few 2nders.

Satoransky and Otto Porter somehow ended up in Chicago together. By letting Sato and Ariza walk, Sheppard is signaling to everyone that he is, indeed, operating much differently than the previous GM.

@wojespn As the #Wizards raced to sign Thomas Bryant, I'm hearing that two other in-house free agents Bobby Portis and Jabari Parker are likely not to return. In Feb., WAS traded Otto Porter Jr. for both Portis and Parker.
